A matter of metaverse #1

Raw pure silicon [Si], silicon wafers, concrete, steel and reflections.

Finalist work at Arte Laguna Prize, selected for the  exhibition at Arsenale, Venice (11/03-16/04)

Silicon is one of the fundamental constituents of the universe, it is the second most abundant element in the Earth's crust after oxygen, but being also the key material for semiconductors, it’s the matter at the core of any virtual universe as well.

In the sculpture, raw highly pure silicon crystals are reflecting into monocrystalline silicon wafers generating a physical/virtual perception that relates to the avatar concept of the Metaverse.

This installation is part of my ongoing aesthetic exploration of the materiality of the digital spaces.
